Trafford Schools is an independent school information and comparison platform, owned and published by Rooftree Publishing Ltd. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website, why, and what rights you have over it. Rooftree Publishing Ltd is the "data controller" for the personal data described below.

We collect only the data needed to run the site and the services you choose to use:

• Account details, if you register as an Education Partner (name, email, business details).
• Information you submit through contact or enquiry forms.
• Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter.
• Basic analytics data about how the site is used (see Cookies & Analytics below).
• Billing details, if you purchase an Education Partner subscription or campaign (handled by Stripe – see below).

We use cookies to run the site and to understand, in aggregate, how it's used – for example which guides are most helpful. We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

If you register a business on our Education Partners directory, we store your account details, business profile content, and billing information so we can manage your listing, subscription and any leads you receive. This information is used only to operate your account and is never shared with schools or used to influence editorial content.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address solely to send it, and to nothing else, unless you separately opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by contacting us.

Information you submit through a contact or enquiry form is used only to respond to your message and, where relevant, to pass your enquiry to the specific Education Partner you contacted. We keep this data only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

Subscription and campaign payments from Education Partners are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment provider. We never see or store full card details – Stripe handles this directly. Stripe's own privacy practices are described at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

We keep personal data only for as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected – for example, for the life of an Education Partner account plus a reasonable period for accounting records, or until you ask us to delete contact-form correspondence. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Ask us to delete your data, where we don't have a legal reason to keep it.
• Object to, or restrict, certain uses of your data.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent (e.g. from marketing emails) at any time.

Trafford Schools is intended for use by parents and guardians, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time as the platform grows. We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever we do, and note significant changes clearly.
